INGREDIENTS

Arhar dal-150gms, Moong – 150gms, Masoor – 150gms, turmeric – 1tsp, Salt to taste, Green mango sliced – 100 gms.

Tempering

Cooking oil – 1 cup, Mustard seeds – 2 tsp, cumin seeds – 2 tsp, Onion grated – 2cup, Chopped garlic – 2 tsp, Curry leaves – 2 sprigs, Tomatoes grated – 3 cup, Red chilli pwd – 1 tsp, Corriander pwd – 4 tsp, Turmeric – 1 tsp, Lemon, Chopped coriander

METHOD:

1-Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes. In the meantime boil water in a cooking pot season the boiling water with salt & turmeric pwd.

2-Add sliced green mango along with lentils to the boiling water, cook the lentils till soft.

3-In a separate pan heat oil; add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chilli whole. Allow them to splutter. Add onions, garlic & curry leaves. Cook the onions till golden brown.

4-Add tomatoes to the above onion and cook till masala is thick in texture & oil comes on sides. Add all the powdered spices to the masala (Corriander pwd, turmeric pwd, red chilli pwd). Cook the masala on a slow flame for another 3-4 minutes. Add the onion tomato masala to the lentils.

5- Towards the end adjust seasoning with salt, lemon & finish the lentils with chopped coriander leaves.
